How Advanced Ductless handles your Mass Save® rebate
September 28, 2026 · Advanced Ductless Team
For qualifying residential heat pump installations, Advanced Ductless applies the eligible Mass Save® rebate at the point of sale. Your proposal and invoice show the installation price, the rebate credit, and your remaining balance. We handle the rebate paperwork and guide you through the steps that need your participation.
This article explains our process. For current residential rebate amounts and eligibility rules, read our Mass Save® homeowner rebate guide.
What does a point-of-sale rebate mean?
We deduct the eligible rebate from the project price on qualifying installations. You pay the remaining balance instead of carrying the rebate portion while the program processes the application.
This is an Advanced Ductless rebate advance. With the utility account holder's authorization, the application names Advanced Ductless as the rebate payee. Mass Save® permits account holders to assign an eligible installer to receive the payment.
The advance changes when you benefit from the rebate. It does not change the eligibility rules or guarantee approval. The Mass Save® Sponsor makes the final program decision, and our written agreement explains the conditions of the advance.

What does the price look like?
Your proposal separates the installation price from the rebate credit. It also shows the balance you need to pay or arrange financing for. Ask us to explain each figure before you sign.
For illustration, Mass Save® gives a whole-home example with a $22,000 installation cost and an $8,500 rebate. On a qualifying project with those figures and our advance, the price breakdown would be:
Installation price: $22,000.
Eligible rebate credited at the point of sale: $8,500.
Remaining project balance: $13,500.
These are Mass Save® example figures, not an Advanced Ductless quote or a promise of the maximum rebate. We determine your actual price and credit after reviewing your home and equipment.

What happens at the first conversation?
Tell us what heats your home, who provides your utilities, and which rooms you want to improve. Share any existing Home Energy Assessment or weatherization information. We use those details to review the installation scope and the rebate route.
We explain what information is still needed and what the next step involves. Our no-cost installation assessment is separate from the Mass Save® Home Energy Assessment. If your project needs the program assessment, we help you understand where it fits.
What do we confirm before installation?
We review the proposed equipment and applicable rebate requirements, including weatherization and controls. Your written proposal identifies the installation scope, eligible credit, remaining balance, and rebate advance terms.
We walk through what you need to complete and what our team handles. If you plan to finance the balance, we discuss that before installation so the required approvals can be arranged.
Before you commit, make sure you understand what happens if the program changes or declines the claim. The written advance terms should address those circumstances. An estimated rebate alone is not a substitute for that explanation.
Who handles the paperwork and communication?
Advanced Ductless prepares the rebate submission for the system we install. You supply accurate account information, authorize the rebate payee, and sign the required forms. We explain which documents need your attention and why.
When the program requests additional information, we help you understand the request and coordinate the response. If your project is selected for inspection, you must provide access so the program can verify the installation. We explain that step when it applies.
At each stage, the useful questions are concrete. What has been completed? What remains outstanding? Who needs to act next? We guide you through those answers rather than leaving you to interpret the rebate paperwork alone.
Do I still receive a rebate check?
When your project uses our rebate advance and names Advanced Ductless as the payee, the credit has already reduced your invoice balance. The program pays the assigned rebate to us. You do not receive that same rebate again as a separate check.
Confirm the payment arrangement on your proposal. The program's processing schedule is separate from the date we apply your invoice credit.
How do I get started?
